Your needs
Getting works built to specification, and paying for what was actually done
“Our fear is not a shortage of contractors. It is paying for what has not been done.”
What is happening
Your situation
The studies are done, the contract is awarded, the contractor is on site. From then on, your exposure changes nature: you are no longer managing a file, you are managing a construction site — with interim payments to approve, quantities to verify, defects to detect before they are covered over, and payment requests arriving faster than your capacity to check them.
What you risk
- An interim payment approved without adversarial checking is irrecoverable: the money has gone, the works are covered.
- Defects are detected as they are built, not at handover. A retrospective check merely records them.
- Land tenure constraints and resettlement of affected people, if not cleared before the order to proceed, stop the site — they are explicitly among the causes of stalled disbursement on funded projects in Cameroon.
- A public client incurs personal liability for works it lacks the technical means to control.
Our answer
What we do
We run the operation on your behalf. Design or review of execution documents, orders to proceed, site management, weekly meetings, control of quantities and quality, management of variation orders, handover of the works. At every contractual milestone, our engineers issue a technical clearance — a signed document certifying that what is invoiced was indeed built to the drawings.
In the Central African context
The decisive lever
The technical clearance is not only a guarantee for you: it is enforceable before your funder during supervision missions. An interim payment backed by a dated, signed clearance defends itself. It is also what accelerates disbursement of the next tranche.
