Who you are
Works contractors and delegated contracting authorities
“I carry the execution risk on studies I did not produce.”
Your mandate
What you answer for
Construction, mining, concession holders, asset companies
You exist to build what others designed and financed, holding a contractual price, deadline and quality. Your exposure is asymmetric: you carry the execution risk without controlling the studies handed to you, and you are paid on quantities that someone has to verify.
You build what others designed and financed, holding a contractual price and deadline. Your exposure is asymmetric: you absorb the shortcomings of the studies handed to you, and you are paid on quantities that someone has to establish.
What your organisation is made of
- Civil engineering and building contractors
- Mining and civil engineering companies
- Concession holders and public service operators
- Delegated contracting authorities and asset companies
Your constraints
How your decision is actually made
This is what most providers ignore, and it is what makes assignments fail.
Who decides
A technical director or a works director. An operational decision, taken quickly, charged to the site.
Where the money comes from
The site budget itself, or a control requirement imposed by whoever finances the works.
What timetable
Two to six weeks. Mobilisation must follow the pace of the site, not that of a procedure.
Our role
What ODT does for you
- We carry out your precision setting-out surveys and as-built drawings.
- We coordinate trades on site and document what is executed, day by day.
- We conduct adversarial verification of quantities — the kind that protects the contractor as much as the client.
- We produce the georeferenced, dated record that settles a quantity dispute before it becomes litigation.
- We establish site boundaries and land tenure constraints before the order to proceed, while there is still time.
What we will not do
- We do not act as design supervisor and contractor on the same works.
- We do not validate an interim measurement the ground does not confirm, whatever the payment schedule.
- We do not replace the design office that conceived the works: we establish facts, we do not rewrite the drawings.

Start with a setting-out assignment
Short scope, result immediately verifiable on site. It is the simplest way to test our precision before entrusting us with site coordination.
Your situations
What we most often encounter in your case
2 situations on this site concern you directly.
Proving to a third party what actually exists on the ground
“Results are reported to us. We need to verify them without depending on whoever reports them.”
Getting works built to specification, and paying for what was actually done
“Our fear is not a shortage of contractors. It is paying for what has not been done.”
