We work the opposite way round from habit: eliminate first, explore second. Multi-criteria screening using satellite imagery and environmental databases rules out high-risk areas before any deployment. On the areas that remain, we carry out the full territorial assessment — geology, soil science, climate, hydrology, market access, social context — and the land tenure check, combining legal document review with a geospatial audit of historical footprints.

In the Central African context

In the Congo Basin, permanent cloud cover severely degrades optical imagery. We systematically combine optical data with Sentinel-1 radar, which sees through cloud, rather than charging you for repeated acquisitions while waiting for a clear window. Likewise, the cost of reaching a site often exceeds the cost of the measurement itself: we state it in our proposals instead of discovering it mid-assignment.
